Skipper ETS manufacture a complete range of high quality IEC Standard 12kV indoor distribution MV switchgear for secondary substation applications. Our Eclipse range has standard ratings 630, 1250 and 2000 amps, they are designed utilising highly efficient magnetic actuator vacuum circuit breakers to ensure low
operational costs.

The switchgear technology is designed by Hawker Siddley Switchgear, a world famous UK company with a reputation for quality in design and manufacturing. Our manufacturing principles and processes exceed internationally recognised standards to ensure that only highly reliable and resilient electrical equipment is connected to critical distribution networks.

A robust design utilises a fixed pattern concept removing the need to withdraw the circuit breaker for isolation or test, the circuit breaker technology is based on an air insulated vacuum and magnetic operation with no requirement for SF 6 gases and their associated maintenance costs. Fixed pattern designs offer a reduced overall footprint, annual maintenance and lifetime cost of ownership; the ease of operation delivers higher levels of operator and system safety.

The Eclipse delivers a high quality and reliable solution from an easy to use control system which has an existing global installed base of many thousands, including in Africa.

Offering high operational performance and reliability properties from multiple patented designs:
Single Coil Magnetic Actuator Mechanism
• Reduces the overall number of components static & moving Electromagnetic Spring
• Low contact pressures
• Reduced closing operation energy requirement The modular design and construction uses plastic moulds and metal casts to reduce the component part count which facilitates a minimal maintenance regime.
